Pedal Power Supports Black Girls Do Bike, Portland

Two cloth pads in a mint green with a white bicycle print are in a bicycle basket with purple lilacs and pink rhododendron blooms.

More than just a cute cloth pad that makes periods more comfortable, saves money, and makes the earth a better place (nbd), our newest print called Pedal Power is giving back this month. For each Pedal Power pad sold on, we’ll be donating $1 to the Portland, Oregon chapter of Black Girls Do Bike.

Black Girls Do Bike is growing and supporting a community of women of color who share a passion for cycling. With 95+ chapters, BGDB is establishing safe and comfortable places where female cyclists can support, advise, organize meet-ups and rides, and promote skill-sharing.

We hope to be a liaison to help usher new riders past barriers to entry and into the larger cycling community. We rejoice when women choose cycling as a tool for alternative transportation, self-care and ultimately empowerment. We look to share positive images of ladies and their bikes to affirm the truth that black girls do indeed bike!   We encourage bike advocacy, education, volunteerism and safety in all communities and corners of the world.
